I made good use of Aunt Adele's new sewing room when she moved to Washington. This was a quilt I found in one of her quilt books. (Sorry the picture is a little crooked!) The lattice-work was white in the pattern and the background was purple, I think. I don't usually make quilts that require templates or that can't be strip-pieced, so this really tried my patience!
The interior tan squares were an answer to running out of the flowered border fabric. The black fabric is actually a tone on tone with some grey in it, so it isn't quite at stark looking in person.
