Quilt 50 - Leaves on Black

This quilt was inspired by a quilt featured on the cover of a Quiltmaker Magazine. As is typical of most of my quilts, I did not follow the pattern exactly. My background squares are a little smaller to accomodate some small scraps leftover from black and white quilts posted previously. I combined a few leaf patterns to come up with one I liked and used it in various sizes. Mom and I came up with the idea to use a varigated thread to hand quilt veins on each leaf but left the edges loose. I haven't made many three-dimensional quilts, so this one is special to me.
