Quilt 40 - Jen's Double Irish Chain

1998, 65 x 80
For many years the Double Irish Chain was our "go-to" quilt for wedding presents. This one was made for a friend of mine. Mom quilted it for me and put their names and the wedding date in the stripes along the top of the quilt.

Why this color combination? Very unique, but we usually think of white for wedding quilts. Which fabric color did you start with - I'm assuming its the print?

These were the colors they chose for their wedding and the colors they were using to decorate their bedroom. (They also had animals and were expecting a baby soon, and since I wanted them to use it I didn't think white was an option.) I did start with the print border fabric. The bridesmaids wore sundresses in a fabric very similar to that, so I thought it would be a nice keepsake.
